AIR TRAGEDY AT HONOLULU. HONOLULU. July G. Lieut. Charles Williams was killed "hen his aeroplane crashed in the sea o.‘i Waikiki. Lieutenants Maitland and Hegenberger (who recently flew to Hawaii had left hoard a steamer for San Francisco, which Lieut. Williams, .as a member of the Nineteenth Army Pursuit Squadron, bail been scut to escort to sea. Williams was just returning to the shore when his machine nose-dived. A lengthy search was futile. There was no trace of the bodv.
BANK HEADS CONFER. (Received this day at 10.15 a.m.) WASHINGTON. July 7. Mr Norman (Governor of the Bank of England). Dr Schacltt (President of German Reichsbank)- and M. List (Deputy Governor of the Bank of Fiance) had a conference with Mr Grissinger (Governor of the Federal Reserve Board) and Mr Mili's (Undersecretary of the Treasury). It is presumed the conference dealt with gold transfers. French gold reserves, and kindred subjects. No statement was vouchsafed.
