Five men scored freely, but when Merritt came on the innings was finished off in quick order. The Scotchmen were all out by the tea adjournment for 199. The coi't howled exceedinglv well. Edinburgh's innings took only 2V hours and the batting was far from slow. AY hen New Zealand went in Dempster played another fine innings of 63, which was the host cricket of the clay. Lowry and Daere helped with some attractive hatting. In the County cricket matches rain generally interfered with all the games. Playing Cambridge. Maryleboiie in the first innings made 295. Hendren scoring 67 anil Kiild 52. Cambridge made 228, Longficld scoring 71. The match was drawn.
Somerset, against Surrey, in the first innings made 118. Surrey in the first made 133 for 6, Barling scoring 67. The game was abandoned. Kent in tDo first innings made 2*13 against Yorkshire. Yalentine scored GO. Jacques took I for 39. Kent in till* second made 10 for 1. Yorkshire in the first made 131, Wright taking 5 for 15 and Woolley -1 for 35. Kent won on the Ist. innings. For Hampshire, against Xorthants, Mean made 111 and Newman took 6 lor -IS. For Xorthants. Adams made 151 not out. Hampshire won.’ For Leicester against Warwick. Skelding took 5 for 91. The game was drawn.
For Notts against Gloucester. Whv■sall made 117 not out, and Voce took 5 lor 37. For Gloucester, Parker took 6 for 111. Notts won.

For Oxford against Lcvoson Gower's Eleven, Holmes made 136 not out. and also took 0 for 55. Oxford won.
