Miss Ntithall’s runaway career was stopped by Miss Joan Fry in a. most sensational match. The centre court was packed to overflowing. Aliss Betty was obviously favourite And captured tlio first set comfortably after leading -I—o, though Aliss Fry’s servile placing was often faulty and made Xutlmll's task most easy. In the second set Aliss Fry altered her tactics hitting harder and superbly spotting the side line. After levelling thescor-es 3—3, she forced XulhalJ to drive out. Nutliall’s service was also weakening. Fry kept rip the severity in the final sets serving with twice the force with accuracy, running Nuthall over the court.
