Surrey in the first innings made 550, Jardine 118. Shepherd 120, Peach 90. Irvine took six for 171. In the second innings Surrey made 59 for one. Cambridge in the first innings made 301. Dawson 78, Seabrook 71. Machine 57. The game was drawn. Hampshire in the first innings made 521 for eight, and delcared. Brown scored 20-1. and Meade 183. Yorkshire in the first innings made 150 for three. Sutcliffe scored 59 and Holmes (not out) 03. The game was abandoned. Meade and Brown’s partnership yielded 344 runs, a third-wicket record in the County competitions. Sussex in the first innings made 100. Bcsleo taking four for 55; and in the second 292. For Gloucester against Derby, Dipper made 113. The match was abandoned.
For Somerset against Worcester, A, Rippon scored 133. and Cresswell took five for 38. White in the first inningtook four for 20. and in the second four for .3. Somerset won.
Heavy rain on the third day interered with nearly all the matches.
