THOUGHTS FOR THE TIMES
Not Died In Vain. There is an old Danube song in •which a soldier buried on tho field of battle, asks is the battle lias been won, and being told that the banners have been borne in triumph from the field says from liis deep dark grave, “I am content.” That voice of complete content cannot yet he heard from the graves of millions who died in the great war. but the progress towards a better international understanding and a better phmitnry relationship which has been made in these eight years, will, at any rate, tell them that they have not died in vain.” —Dr J. H. Fin lev.
