DUKE AND DUCHESS.

MELBOURNE, June 13
A wireless from the Be no up says the Duchess descended to the nethermost depths of the ship; when she accompanied the Duke on a visit to the torpedo room, making light of climbing the ladders in order to reach it and scorning the proffered overalls, accepting only gloves to protect her hands. She moved among the oily death dealing monsters and looked at the yawning steel tubes while the torpedo officer explained the mystery of their working. The crew gave a loading demonstration. Though the heat of the room was intense Their Highnesses remained lui I fan hour.
