It is impossible to forecast the practical results of the Irish Free State elections until it is known whether the Republicans are going to continue a policy of not taking the oath. Fp to the present, the Constitutionalists are fairly safe, hut complications might arise if the Republicans enter the Dail and try to form alliance with the sections that are opposed to the Government. Labour is satisfied with its gains. Labour will probably secure 22 seats.
It is doubtful if the Farmers’ Party candidates will >c*ch their pre-elec-tion strength. In any ease the distribution of the transfer votes must profoundly affect the result. LONDON. June 13. The Irish Free State election returns at midnight showed results as follows : For Government— Government 20 National League . ... 5 For Republicans— De Valeraites 20 Sinn Fein 3 Labour 15 Independents 8 Kfirmers’ fapty .., 0
