A HORSE’S WITHDRAWAL. SYDNEY, June 13.
The last minute scratching of the horse Castles from the hurdles race at Randwick on Saturday caused an angry ferment among the public and bookmakers. The horse had been strongly supported and the withdrawal upset all betting. Just before the time to start the owner asked to be allowed to amend the entry on the ground that the pedigree was wrongly described. The stewards decided that the application was too late and there was no alternative but to reject the entry.
