CANADA S WEALTH. OTTAWA. June 12,
The total wealth of Canada is estimated at over 22 billion dollars, according to a bulletin issued by Canadian Pacific Railway Coy., or 2525 dollars, per capita, which is one of the highest in the world. Agricultural values include eight billions urban real estate six, railways over two. Ontario owns a third, Quebec a quarter and Saskatchewan an eighth. It is .significant that per capita wealth which ignores undeveloped resources is the greatest in the favour in western provinces, where natural resources other than farm lands are the least developed. There have been .remarkable incleases in the revenue irom wool, dairy products, tobacco and honey, the last of which live .years age was unrecognised by the Government, which now enjoys a revenue of two millions.
INDUSTRIAL .MISSION. WASHINGTON. June 12. 'The final meeting of the Australian Industrial Mission was held here. Mr Grayndler was absent, It is understood that heated exchanges occurred between employer and employee regarding Grnyndler’s general inattention to the Association’s meetings. ft is stated authoritatively that members were prepared to place progress reports on the table if Grayndler and MInncs do likewise, hut no action was taken, [t is believed Gravndlcr and .Mcfniies are making the excuse that they have insufficient data. In the hope of placating them and securing an Unanimous report, the .Mission resol veil .to inform Air Bruce that owing to insufficient information it was unable to complete its report in America and adjourned to San Francisco. Air Al.iindon stated he was personally prepared to finalise his report before leaving America, it )!.s difficult to understand the complaint of insufficient data, after three months intensive travelling and three weeks in Washington, where Government officials and the Federation ef Labour are anxious to supply abundant information.

GERMAN FINANCES, BERLIN. June The Agent-General for reparations reports the execution of the Dawes plan is progressing normally. The German Budget statement lacks clearness, necessitating an exhaustive study. The expenditure shows a constant tendency to exceed the revenue, necessitating borrowing, but the Budget stability is not impaired. Despite heavy unemployment and excess of imports over exports, savings :io growing.
REPORTED HOAX. LONDON. June 12. “ L’Echo de Paris” correspondent at Calais declares Spaeck’s claim that he swam the channel (cabled on I.oth) is a mere hoax. He arrived at Calais oil Tuesday and left on Thursday, xvlien he motored to A\ issnut, necompanied by a photographer. There Space!; hired a room and changed into a swimmng costume. He bathed for five minutes and then rushed out because the water was too cold. He returned to Calais and went thence to Paris. No boat owner in Calais lent a boat for the Channel swim. Experts declare neither the wind nor the condi* tion of the water made tho attempt possible last week.
