AUCKLAND TO WELLINGTON. fBY TELEGRAPH —PER PRESS ASSOCIATION.] WELLINGTON, June 13. A. C. Sutherland, the professional cyclist, who left Auckland at 9.15 a.m. •on Thursday arrived here at the same time yesterday morning. He had bad weather in the hitter part and was very fatigued on arrival.
Heavy rain came on after reaching Otaki and the rider lost his way several times at Tawa Flat. No great distance from Wellington he was frozen and crawled under a hush for shelter. He saw a light and found a hut with two men hut they had no focxl.
His pac-ers picked him up at times, but mostly he was hv lnnself and felt the loneliness more than anything. It was estimated his actual riding time was 53 hours. He reached Hawera at 10.30 p.m. on Friday, Palmerston North at 5.30 p.m. on Saturday. Then lie rode through the night and a cold, head wind and rain till he arrived.
Sutherland says he would not do the journey again for a thousand pounds.
