[“ Sydney Sun ” Cables.] CHINESE BATTLE. SHANGHAI, Juno 8. There lias been a. tliirtv-six hour battle by the Nationalists against the Shantung troops, on the border of the provinces of Kinngsu and Shantung. It resulted in the Nationalists capturing Hanclnvong and making their first entry into Shantung province. Owing to the superior strategy and morale of the Nationalist forces, the Shantungese were doomed to defeat, but they put up a. remarkable defence, with the aid of strong fortifications, until the Nationalists’ aeroplanes systematically bombarded Honclnvong. A Shantungese regiment mutinied. Thereupon the commanding General surrounded most of the mutineers, and a large number of them were shot immediately, or fell beneath cxeutioners’ swords.
