A \Vailii telegram says—Miss Rbonn Haszard (Mrs Greener), daughter of Mr H. D. M. Haszard, of Wailii. has . a picture hung in the Paris Salim. A monster jumble sale will be held in St. Mary’s Club Rooms on Saturday, June 18th, when there will be a monster collection of farm produce, home cookery, poultry, etc., commencing at 11 a.in.
The express train from Christchurch was delayed for 1 J hours in arrival at Hokitika last evening owing to a heavy fall of snow at Arthur’s Pass, where , it was over 18 inches deep and freezing, the rails becoming so slippery that difficulty was experienced in getting the trains along.
