Captain Janncy, Canadian flying ace, announces a non-stop flight to London, leaving Ottawa on June 30th. to celebrate Canada’s jubilee. He will arrive in London the following evening on Dominion Day. Janncy will follow the all-British route.
17.5. RECEPTION ARRANGING. WASHINGTON. June 1. President Coolidge announced that Lindbergh lias accepted an invitation to sail aboard tho cruiser Memphis from Cherbourg direct to A\ ashiligton. The vessel will steam up the Potoniac River on lltli June. The airman will be given a reception by the President. Cabinet, officers of army and navy and by the citizens. Lindbergh and his mother, who will meet at Washington, will be the guests of President Coolidge and Airs Coolidge at a reception. Details are now in the bands of the District Commissioners, who are cooperating with a Cabinet Committee. Lindbergh will stay one day at Washington after which he will probably fly to New York, where an enormous reception already is being planned.
U.S.A. DRV LAW. WASHINGTON, May 31. The Supreme Court has refused to review the decision of the Federal Court of New York dismissing a suit brought by the Association of Masters and Afates, attacking the constitutional ijv of the British Rum Treaty. The provisions of the Treaty, under which British vessels are permitted to bring liquor to American ports under seal were especially attacked.
