Surrey in the first innings made 400 for 4, and declared against Somerset. Hobbs made 58. Sandham 148, Shepherd 134, and Ducat (not out) 73. Somerset in the first innings made 118. Fenley took six for 40. In the second innings Somerset made 320, Case scoring 59. Surrey won by an innings and 122 runs. Playing for Derby against Lancashire, Townsend took five for 29. For Lancashire, Tyldesley took five tor 31. The match was drawn. For Notts against Warwick, Payton made 148. For Warwick, Smith made 101 not out. The match was drawn. For Yorkshire against Gloucester. Oldroyd made 110, and Rhodes took six for 20. Macaulay took five for 38. Yorkshire won. For Sussex against Nortbnnts. Wright took five for 00. for Northants, Clark took five for 113. Kent won. For Sussex against Worcester, 'late made 122 and took five for 02, and Powlev took five for 35. while Wensley took five for 85. For Worcester, Hoot took six for 135. Sussex won. Pain interfered with play.
