“OLD LOVES AND NEW” -TO-NIGHT.

“The Desert Healer,’’ the widely read and romantic novel by E. M. I full, author of “The Sheik,” has been adapted for the screen. This absorbing story of desert love will be introduced to picture goers under the title of “ Old Loves and New,” with a carefully chosen cast to portray the various exacting roles. The story takes the spectator from the drawing rooms of high society to the solitude of the vast desert, where .some highly dramatic and intensely emotional scenes are unwound. In the leading roles, Lewis •Stone and Barbara Ledford portray their respective parts to perfection, and the author herself has personally expressed her delight at the finished product when revealed to her. “ Old Loves And New ” tells of an unfaithful wife, whose duplicity wrecked a home and drove a doting husband to desert wastes, where he sought sanctuary from his troubled mind. Out there among the Arabs, lie encounters Marny, a beautiful girl, and rescues her from bandits. Later lie finds that she is the wife of the man who had caused the break of six verb's earlier, ft is 1 hen that the real thrills begin, and the tense moments continue right up to the surprising and smashing climax. In addition to Lewis Stone and Barbara Bedford, the cast includes Walter Pidgeon and Katherine McDonald, who play the parts of the unfaithful “friend” and wife. Tally Marshall, Arthur Rankin and Ann Jlork are also prominent in the pictures. “ Old Loves and New ” should provide most acceptable fare for patrons of the Princess Theatre', where the big drama will be screened to-night. A topical, scenic and comedy will also l,c shown.

To-night at Kokatahi Art Acord will be seen in a Blue Streak Western drama entitled “Sky High Corral,” and a good supporting programme.
