The tote took £25,100 against £30,170 on the second last year. Results:— Kairanga Hurdles.—Elvaette 1, Comedy Prince 2, Brigadier Bill 3. Won liy a lentgh and a-half. Time 3.15. Lockwood Handicap.—Rising Star 1, Pnrtnga 2, VVaicullus 3. Won by ai neck. Time 1.15.
Tamete Handicap.—Clnrinda 1, A oma 2, Mniulanp 3. Won by a short bead. Time 2.8 2-5.
Stoneyhur.st Handicap.—Reavis 1, Pencus 2, Vivo 3. AA on by bait a bead. Time 1.27 4-5.
Twenty-Third Manawatu Stakes.— Joy King 1, Gascony 2, Kerentoana 3. Won by three-quarters of a length. Time 1.14.
Clarion Nursey.—Great Charter 1, Snrebeo 2, Lady Limond 3. AVon by six lengths. Time 1.2 1-5. Borough Handicap.—Mireusonta 1, First Acre 2, Crown Area 3. AA on by a short head. Time 1.15.
Adderstone Handicap.—Gardant 1. Manly 2, Henna 3. AA'on by one and n-lialf lengths. Time 1.56 2-5. HEROIC GOES TO STUD. SYDNEY, May 2.
The racehorse Heroic ran his last race on Saturday. He will be used in the future for stud purposes. During Ids racing career he won over £‘38,000 in stakes, occupying second place to Gloaming in the lost ol winning racehorses.
