CRICKET.
[Australian it N.Z. Cablo Association.] CRICKET CONTROL. LONDON, April 30. A meeting of the Board of Cricket Control of test matches, at which Lord Harris presided, appointed Levcesou(Jower (chairman), Douglas and Carr (failing one of which C’althorpo) as a selection committee for 1927.
Trial matches, with power to accept two professionals, one each from the north and south. The meeting carried a resolution debarring members of the committee and players from making statements to the press, cither of discussions of the committee or reports of nvitelms. before the end of the season. It recommended the following trials for 1928 at the end of which season a team is going to Australia: — England versus The Rest ; Gentlemen versus West Indies; Players versus West Indies; (all before 23rd dune). Tho meeting resolved regards the covering of the whole wicket that the intention of the original motion is that captains must decide before tossing, whether the whole wicket shall be covered from the close on Saturday to seven on Monday morning.
