Splendid weather conditions were experienced, and a crowd of over 3000 was present. It was the unanimous opinion of the visiting drivers that the bench is by far the best and safest in New Zealand. Speeds ot over 90 miles an hour were attained by DoLli cars and cycles. Results:— AVnimatuku Handicap, 3 miles.—L. H. Johnston (A.J.S.) scr, 1 ; D. Roberts (Harley), 25sees., 2. Five started. A number of local riders had difficulty with their machines owing to lack of racing experience. Time 3.59. Invercargill Handicap, 5 miles (for cycles up to 500 c.o.)—L. H. Johnston (A.J.S.) scr., 1 ; J. Gorton (A.J.S.) 30 secs. 2. Five started. AVon easily. Time 7.-10.

Pacific Handicap, 21 miles.—L. TI. .Tolmston (A.J.S.) 20seos„ 1; H. White (A.J.S.) 70secs., 2; C. Rhodes (Indian) scr.. 3. Four started. Johnston won at 81 miles an hour, and exceeded 91 miles an hour at other stages of the rare. Time 2-fmins 20seos.

The members of the Now Zealand League Football Team which toured England were defeated by 24 to 21 by tho Auckland Reps to-day. The match was played before ten thousand spectators.
