The principal functions in Sydney yesterday were the depositing oi wreaths on tho soldiers graves and memorial- A monster united religious service at the Domain was attended-by the Governor and Lady Do Chair, the Premier, and many other representative heads, many thousands of returned soldiers and sailors, other war services. their relatives and the general public. Subsequent there was a procession of soldiers through the city. The W.ltole was a most impressive solemn remembrance ol the dead. Similar observations were held in country centres. In Melbourne twenty-eight thousand soldiers and sailors of all arms marched through the thronged streets in t,he presence of the Duke and Duchess of York, the Governor-General and his wife, and many other prominent officials to the Exhibition building whore a (lacked commemoration service was held. It was the hugest and most impressive gathering ot Returned Soldiers since the war and included a detachment from the Renown. The Duke took the salute at the Cenotaph.

ANZAC TRIBUTES. LONDON, April 25,

Around Uic base of the Cenotaph a mass of Anzac wreaths rapidly accumulated in the morning. Sir J. C'ook officiated on helmlf of Australia. Sir •T. Parr, in the presence of Lord Jellieoe, on behalf of the New Zealand’ Government, whose wild flower emblem arrived in frozen ice. Sir .7. Parr also acted on behalf of Auckland mothers. Hath functions were in the presence of a squad of bluejackets Irom the cruiser Dunedin, whose Captain, deposited a wreath. A wreath was also laid on New Zealanders’ graves at Aldershot. There was a crowded attendance at St. Clements' Lane, including the Kooks, Parrs, Chelmsford, lan Hamilton, Lord Jellicoe. A new Anzac hymn “ Father Ring Immortal, \\iltten by St. Clements’ vicar, Pennington Brickford and words by Mrs Pennington Brickford was a- feature cd the service. General Bird wood sent a letter to sir -I. Cook: “The memory of the fallen is still green with us and will always remain so in all Australia.’ j {,> also wrote to Sir »T. Parr conveying greetings and remembrances to all New Zealand’s Gallipolites.

TAITRANGA. April 20. Anzac Day was observed in the customary way by a memorial service in the Town Hall' in the afternoon, which was crowded. Clergy of all denominations participated and an address was given hv Rev. J: Ml. Smith. Wreaths were place on the cenotaph and thence were taken to the memorial gates at the entrance to the domain, afterwards being placed on the graves of the returned men. Zone Grey’s yacht Fisherman flew hunting as a tribute to the memory of the fallen men.
