CORRESPONDENCE.

THOSE OVERCOATS. (To the Editor.) Sir. Will you kindly allow me a small space in your paper? I. do not write this letter with the object of giving an explanation to our friend “Ditikum Anzac." 1 write to the parents of the hoys who were on parade yesterday minus greatcoats. Regulations do not permit the wearing: of civilian overcoats on any unilorm parade, and unfortunately cadets are not issued with great-coals. I was in charge ol the cadets, and not one of them asked ii he could wear Lis coal. 11 any cadet had complained to me that a wetting would a fleet him in any way he would certainly have been granted leave, as several were. Now, “General” Dinkum Anzac, there were three officers on parade who are itr possession of a real good British warm each. They did not wear them on principle when the hoys went coatless.

The Girl Guides and Boy Scouts were dismissed at the Pioneers’ Memorial, and it was seriously thought of dismissing the Cadets too, but how mahy would have been on parade to pay tribute at the school and other memorials? r did not see too many Dinku. Anzaes there either, and T noticed the worthy Secretary ol the K.S.A. trying to coax a few more at the Drill Shed. Some of them would not be coaxed. Were you one of those Dinkum Anzac.s ?

Thank you, Mr Editor, for your valuable space.

T am etc., C. H. BLEACH. O/C. Cadet Hokitika. July 26th. 1927.
