NEW YORK, April 2. “New York Times” Winnipeg correspondent states the .Saskatchewan wheat pool, a big factor in co-operative grain marketing in Canada, is having great difficulty In persuading its members to to renew grain marketing contracts which were formulated by Sapiro. I,ess than fifty per cent of members are renewing despite an army of field service men employed by the pool. This is due to the fact that a producer selling at the open market has been obtaining hotter price for his grain than the pool, the farmer in some cases getting sixty cents per bushel more. Eleven million acres of Saskatchewan wheat is now in the pool. Only live million acres have renewed. Euless another 2.606.0(1! ) acres enter by next autumn the pool will he compelled to release all members from contracts and cease operations. 'The poo! managers when seeding began expected to obtain 85 per cent of the acreage. The failure is considered a triumph of the grain exchange marketing system.
