The Australiv.n Industrial Mission at Detroit questioned Americans regarding huge labour turnover in industries and were given an assurance that the turnover did not mean unemployment, men flocking to various plants according to the fluctuation of peak and slack periods. A member of the Alichigan Manufacturers Association stated they found no necessity of studying the question of fatigue from mass production. They believed it non-exis-tent. Representatives of building employers said buildings were constructed on the open shop principle, cost twenty per cent less than others. Ihe same wages were paid but the open shops escaped the Unionists restrictive practices. A member of the Board of Commerce produced lengthy documents de3tiling crime committed by Unionists for intiinidation purposes.
