U.S.A. FOREIGN POLICY. NEW YORK. March 20.
Senator Borah made a sensational speed) at Newhaven, attacking the present American policy abroad, particularly in -Mexico, China, and Russia. He said; “The Powers behind the League of Nations have, divided up China. Let this Christian civilised nation. whenever any great crisis arises, be in a position to decide what to do instead of being tied up with the j.eague of Nations. I would, if I had my own way. recognise Russia to-mor-row. Let us begin by dealing with the Russian people, and, by association, let them see the fal'seness of some of their theories.” Senator Borah advocated arbitration in relation to Alexico. He added:— “But let there be one brand of arbitration—not one kind for small nations and another for large.”
