THE CHRISTCHURCH EXCURSION
SECOND TRAIN. APRIL 2nd. Advice has been received that the whole of the train from Christchurch on Saturday week (2011 1 inst) lias been hooked up by excursionists for Greymouth and Hokitika, principally the latter. In the circumstances it has been found necessary to arrange for a second train the following Saturday (April 2nd) which will run also as far as Hokitika. From private ad pice we learn that 250 have already hooked for the second train, so that it, too "ill be well patronised.
It. is likely there will he another large contingent for Hokitika also by the second train. Some bowlers who are disappointed in not obtaining seats on the first train will come by the second train. Among those coming by the second train are 50 from Motuku* rarn. It is likely also that there will he a Rughv team by this train for Hokitika if'a local team can he put in the field. The local Union should get. biisv and have the field of play marked off in preparation for the visit. Meantime Ihe local Reception Committee is busy preparing for the visitors. Newmans Motors Ltd is issuing a special leaflet for the information of the visitors.
