WELLINGTON, March S. The Department of Agriculture has received the following cablegram dated March sth, from the High Commissioner for New Zealand, London; — BUTTER. There is slow demand for finest New Zealand and Australian, and a fair de* maud for Argentine. Official quotations are: — New Zealand finest salted—l62s to 166 s per cwt, and up to 1635. Unsalted—l76s to 180 s per cwt. Other qualities—ls6s to 158 s per cwt. Australian—Unsalted ; 160 sto 166 s per cwt. Salted: 156 sto 160 s tier cwt. Other qualities—l46s to 154 s per cwt. Argentine—Unsalted: 152 s to 156 s per cwt. Other qualities—l46s to 150 s per cwt. Danish—lß6s per cwt. CHEESE. The demand is slow for Colonial. Official quotations are:— English, finest farmers —116 s to 120 s per cwt. Canadian—Finest coloured and white 96s to 9Ss per cwt, exceptional 100 s. Other qualities—94s to 95s per cwt. New Zealand coloured and white—87s to 88s. Other qualities—Bss to 86s per cwt. Estimated cheese stocks at London, Liverpool, and Bristol on March Ist: Canadian and America 57,500 boxes, New Zealand and Australian 124,450 crates, against 67,300 and 68,100 same time last year. 1
