The report of t lie New South Wales Rugby iUnion which is to be presented to the annual meeting, to be held on March 14th, will state the past season has been most successful, and that one of tlie principal factors in its success was the visit of one of the finest teams that ever left New Zealand,... It will state that intense interest was taken in the visit. It will also state that the visit of the New Zealanders and the Maoris to Victoria stimulated interest there, and that the local Union intends fostering the game as far as possible, but that it is questionable whether Rugby will succeed in Victoria. AUCKLAND PLAYERS RETURNING TO RUGBY. AUCKLAND, March 9. Memories of other days, when the Rugby Union football drew all Auckland to Potter’s paddock, now the Alexandra Trotting Park, will he revived by tlie re-appearance of the City Club in the senior competition. Although no names are officially announced, it is common talk that two senior fifteens will include many prominent League players, including many who have won thirteen a-side rep. honours.
N.Z. LEAGUE TOUR. AUCKLAND, March 9. Tlie Council of Management of the New Zealand Rugby League, met last evening to consider the report of the) managers, E. H, Mair and G. H. Ponder, on the tour of the League team in England. Three hours were occupied by discussion in committee, concerning matters in connection with the management of the team and the conduct of the tour. At the conclusion of the meeting he* result of the deliberates was not available for publication, and it was stated that no report would he issued in the meantime,
