LATE LOCALS.
Eight motor cars for the Ducal visit arrived here Vist night from 'Lyttelton, having been shipped thither from the North Island. The cars-will be utilised to transfer the Royal party from the train to Cass Square and return to the railway station. The cMrs are Government motors controlled by a branch of the Postal Department of which Mr Lance Hills, formerly of Hokitika, is the chief clerk.
Private advice received from Christchurch indicates that the railway excursion to the Coast "ill duly materialise on the 2(sth inst. The excursion is likely to be larger than was at first expected, as most of the tickets supplied for the first train have been disposed of, and the question of running a second train is being considered. Among the parties booking up are twenty-four members of the Linwoocl Bowling Club for Hokitika. When further particulars are available it is proposed to arrange a local reception, committee to see that the visitors h*we p good time while in Hokitik.v* *
