June were £10.803.000. an increase of £728.000 over the previous year, but showing a loss on working of £285,000, chiefly as a result of the increased basic wage and superannuation liability. The telegraphic branch made a lass of £309,000 and the postal branch had a gain of £76.000, while the telephone earnings increased by £472.000.
