(Australian & N.Z. Cable Association.] POLICE- MASSACRE. SYDNEY, March .5. The steamer Matarani brings new; of a massacre of several native police n't Guadnlcama, Island, in the Solomor Group. The trouble is said to have arisen through an official having ordered the arrest of a certain native who was observing the native custom of having two wives. When it wa.s learned that the native concerned had taken two wives the District Officer at Guadalcanal* sent a native constable to bring the offender to the coast. 'Hie native refused to submit. Thereupon an armed force of seven native police was sent after him. intimidated by the size of the force, the native conI stnted to go quietly. The force decided to camp for the night in the village. During the darkness the Tribesmen ot the arrestee’s tribe attacked the camp with spears and axes. Six of the police were butchered. The .seventh, though mortally wounded, managed to reach the coast. All news is bcihg suppressed by the authorities.

Another mysterious bomb explosion similar to that cabled on 23rd. February is reported. On this occasion tb bomb exploded in the front garden of a small cottage occupied by AlrsCurphy, who was covered with broken glass but all bad fortunate escapes from any serious injury, though they suffered from shock. In front: of the house there was a hole 20ft. in diameter and lift. deep. Windows in houses nearby were shattered. SUSPENDED. SYDNEY. .March 7. At a special meeting of the Australian Labour Party Executive, the President, W. H. Seale, was .suspended from, office on a charge of having defied the executive decisions in regard to covering the annual conference and altering the basis of league representatives at Conferences. F. Conroy was elected President in succession to Seale.
