HOKITIKA HARBOUR BOARD
The Board met yesterday alternoon at 4.30 o'clock. Present: .Messrs G. A. M’ood (Chairman), Nightingale and Houston. Apology was made lor Mr Richards. The previous minutes were confirmed and outward correspondence approved. INWARD ( URL ESPILN PENCE. From Wilson and Spencer asking allowance on hire of engine.—Received and resolved that the request cannot l.e entertained and that payment of overdue hire he pressed for. From Shipwreck Relief Society applying for donation. —Received ; regret was expressed that no funds were available.
From Kanieri Electric Ltd asking permission to erect low transmission line across the river, two chains below railway bridge.—Received: no objection made.
From Signalman, reporting bar good, channel straight, with 'l2ft ol water.— Received.
From Audit Inspector, asking lor two copies of balance sheet.—Received. A number of formal letters were also received.
Accounts amounting to 9-102 19s 2d were passed for payment, including C;j 1 1\ 17s fid on loan account.
The ( linirmnii reported that- the break ill the north wall had been satisfactorily repaired, and now beams and piles under the signal station placed, at a total cost of COT 12s; that over Clf, had been saved in the purchase of timber bv salvaging the broken piles from the beach.—Received. The Hoard then rose.
