CHURCH TRANSFERS
Numerous transfers among the Catholic clergy on the West Coast are announced. They include the following: The Rev. Ur. Kennedy, who for some years past has been in charge of Hokitika parish, has lieen promoted toy Bishop Brodie to the office of Administrator of St. Mary’s Cathedral parish, Christchurch, where lie will have among Isis assistants, Rev. Fathers MeMonagle and Maguire, of Greymouth. The place of Dr Kennedy at "Hokitika is Iveing filled by the promotion to thaf parish of Rev. Father Finnertv, the popular pastor of Kumara, who will have as his assistant at Hokitika, the Rev. Father McKay, who was recently ordained.
The Rev. Father McMonagle, who has been stationed at Greymouth for several years, and Rev. Father J. "Maguire, who lias spent a year in Greymonth. are both being transferred to Christchurch, where they will he added to the staff of St. Mary’s Cathedral parish. Their places at Greymouth are to be taken by the Rev. Fathers Quinn and A. Gregory, of Christchurch.
The Rev. Father M. J. Fogarty, formerly of Aliaura. who recently returned from a visit to Ireland, has been appointed to the charge of the parish of Barfield. Canterbury, The Rev. Father O’Doherty, of Canterbury, has appointed to the parish of Ross, while the Rev. Father Borden, of Canterbury, is taking charge of the parish of Kumara. The Rev. Father J. Kilgour, who has lieen temporarily stationed at Greymouth. lias received notice of his appointment to the parish of Rnngiora North Canterbury, where he takes the place of Rev. Father O’Doherty, who is being transferred to Ross. The Rev. Father S. O’Brien, who was recently ordained has lieen appointed by Bishop Brodie to the parish of Ashburton.
