NEW PRAYER BOOK. LONDON, Feb. 19

The International Air Traffic Association has agreed to establish three basic European airways, namely:— North and South: Malmoi, Berlin, Vienna, Venice and- Rome; (2) East and West: Paris, Berlin and Moscow; (3) diagonal: Geneva, -Munich, Vienna, Budapest, Belgrade, Bucharest and Constantinople. These services will open in the spring.
AUSTR ALLAN’S INVENTION. LONDON, February 19. A new petrol pump, designed by an Australian. Mr Frank Hammond, bas been installed in the Royal "oaragqg,- at Windsor, Sandringham and A lari - borough House. __ It transpires that Dame Melba inter-) csted herself in Mr Hammond’s invention, and introduced him to Professor Low, who pushed his interests, and secured patents on -behalf of Hammond’s pump. Its virtue is its unfailing accruracy, it being correct to within eight drops. Tests with ordinary pumps have revealed inaccuracies which vary from a quart short to a quart over. The Board of Trade made an investigation, which revealed that Mr Hammond’s pump retained its accuracy without inspection or adjustment. INDIAN ARMY STRIKE. ‘ y DELHI, February 18. The- strike on the Bengal-Nagpur railway is gradually dying out. On 1" the Calcutta-Kharagpur section is affected. Recruits are thronging to the labour office.
TOUlt of dominions. LONDON, Fob. 19. Plans are now being discussed to enable Mr Amery (Secretary of State for Dominions and Colonies) to fulfil his ambition to officially visit Canada, New Zealand, Australia and South Africa. This tour would occupy at least eight months, which his colleagues « may deem overlong for him to be away A from the Dominions’ Office. In that % case Mr Amery would do Australia and ’ New Zealand in one year and the others in rotation. If it proves possible to do the grand tour “in one bite” Afr Amery will leave London next July and will ho in Australia at the end of the year. HOCKEY. LONDON Feb. 19.
