GERMAN PROPERTY SCANDAL. HERON, December 21. Revelations of a gigantic scandal in the management of German property sequestrated in America when the 1 nited States entered the war has made a great sensation here. 'll)o House of Representatives lias already passed a law for the return of the property to the rightful owners, and the publication by the •’New York AYorld” of a confidential report made to President C'oolidge by Mr MeCar on the administration of the property shows that millions of dollars have been squandered so that firms and persons should continue the management of the property. Cases which have long ago been liquidated have, it is said, been maintained to provide officials with good salaries. Numbers of specific cases of irregularity and squandering are given in the report.
