HOKITIKA v. ROSS.
A cricket match was played yesterday at Hokitika and resulted in an easy win for the home team. Hokitika made 142 (AVcbster Si , Griffiths 24, Thomas 17, J. Coulson 10, J. Turner 10). Ableson took 5 wickets, lloulahan 2, Roberts, Head and Jones 1 each. Ross made 31 (AfcNnb 10, Donaldson 9). King took 3 wickets, Ferguson 2. AVilliams 2, Griffiths and Coulson 1 each. In the second innings Ross made -10 (Clarke 12, Afc-Nab 8). Thomas took 6 wickets. King 3 and Coulson 1. Hokitika in the second innings made 103 (AVcbster 23, A. H. King 23. C. J. King 18, AVallah 12. AVilliams 12). Donaldson took 4 wickets. AVatson, Clarke, Roberts, Ableson and Houlahan 1 each. .MELBOURNE A'. HAAYKE’S BAY. At the conclusion of Friday’s play, the home side bad 247 on, and the Australians had one down for 102. 'file visitors declared at 563 for 7 wickets and then put Hawke’s Bay in. AVhen stumps were drawn, Hawke's Bay had lost 5 wickets for 12/. Sandford delighted’ the crowd with a fine display of batting for 192, bis total including thirty fours. Jewell played a line innings for 137, being however, dropped three’times in five minutes after he had passed the century. MELBOURNE, Feb. 13. I n the grade cricket yesterday, bowling for Collingwood against St. Kilda, Froninonfecr took 0 for 28. SYDNEY, Feb. 13. To yesterday’s grade cricket, playing for .Manly against Northern Districts, S. Trumper made 101. Bowling for Northern Districts, Congan took 0 for 101; for Mossniau against Randwick, Bassitl- took 6 for 94; for AVestern Suburbs against AVaverley, Twuddalo took 5 for 73; for Northern Sydney against Paddington, O’Reilly took 5 for S2.
