MELBOURNE v. HAWKES’ BAY NAPIER, Feb. 11.
The Victorians commenced the third match of the tour at Napier to-day against Hawke’s Bay on a lovely wicket. in splendid weather. Hawkes Bay hatted first and the first wicket fell early. White being brilliantly caught in the slips by Onvons ofF Armstrong—lo-1-3. Elliott Young, a left banded colt, joined Worker and opened with three brilliant fours. He then hit two boundaries off Armstrong, bringing .‘lO up. He raised 50 in thirty five minutes by another succession of fours. However, when Wood relieved Killing, lie got Elliott caught, at mid-off—sß-2-35. His score included seven boundaries.
