The climax came when, after. the members had left their seats for the division, Air Lang remained at the table, shouting indignantly at the Government. Ho said; “Tho liquor trade has never got anything it hasn’t paid for Your hands are red with their money!”

Mr Lazzarini then ran across the floor of the chamber, and aimed ia wild swing at Air Lane, hitting him on tho nose. Air Lane made no attempt to defend himself or retaliate. Meantime Air Speaker was hammering on bis desk, calling for order. He ordered the Scrgehmt-at-Arms to icmove Mr Lane and Mr Lazzarini. The Sergeant removed Mr Lane. Mr Laz.zarini walked out. Eventually order was restored and both members lister re-entered and apologised to the Speaker. Lane states Lazzarini’s blow did not reach bis nose, but glanced off Lancs band as he instinctively raised it in a warning gesture.
