From Department of Internal Adairs acknowledging suggestions forwarded for the frame season. Received. From same replying llmt Cnliinet liad decided adversely against further liberation of opossums in Westland district. Received. Chairman to confer with Conservator of Forests. From same notifying the appointment of Artlmh Lyes, of Kokatalii. as a Ranger of 1 he Soeielv for the Westland district. Received with thanks. From same enquiring in regard to open season for opossums this year. Received, Department to be referred to recommendations from joint conference of Westland rind Grey Societies in November last. From same and various other* in respect to deer stalking season. From Roller Acclimatisation Society agreeing to suggestions made for regulation of opossum season. Received. From Tourist General Manager. Wellington, stating be was enquiring in regard to the conditions of tbo lease for tbo Tourist Cottage at Lake Kanieri. Received. From A. Reddell. Christchurch, complaining of lack of facilities for visitors to Lake Kanieri to boil their billies. and referring to the closing of the Tourist. Cottage. Received. From Southland Acclimatisation Societv offering brown trout eyed ova at 3s 6d per ICAO. Received and resolved to order 100.000 for earliest delivery.

From Diggers Sawmill Coy., regarding sawdust trouWe and making suggestions as regards bolding the sawdust with a retaining wall, subject to permission. Received and resolved the Society had no power to grant the permission desired. GENERAL. Tt was resolved to ask the Inspector of Fisheries for a report in regard to tbo southern streams lately inspected with reference to further distribution of fry.

Accounts were passed for payment, and the action in arranging for deposit of £IOO was approved. •T. Foote, Ranger, reported regarding sawdust in streams and other matters. Received and referred to the Chairman to ascertain from Sergeant King what vMs being done. The Ranger also recommended that the guage box which was considered the cause of the trouble at tbo tramway mill should be removed. Photographs of the situation a wore produced. The matter was deferred to ascertain the views of the Inspector. Tt was resolved Mr Armstrong retain the Chairmanship, and the matter of electing a President be deferred to the annual meeting to bo held on the first Thursday in April, when an executive and hatchery committee will he set up. the latter to act jointly with a S uh-committee of the Grey District
