A BURGLARY
AUCKLAND, February 3
The general drapery store of A. and -M. Booth. Maiiakaii Road, was burglariously entered oil 'Tuesday and dress goods valued between £SO and £IOO removed. Other goods were strewn on the floor ami damaged through being trampled upon. Entrance was effected by breaking a window at the rear of the shop. The goods were evidently removed in a motor truck borrowed from an adjoining garage and returned to the garage belore daylight. This neighbourhood hu> recently bad an epidemic of burla rics.
porter injured. OHAKUXE, Feb. 3.
A porter. .M. G. K. Bedell, injured yesterday at Ohakmic Junction was taken to Taihnpe hospital .and operated on by Dr Carriek Robertson. The injuries comprised a temple fracture of the .skull, and broken arm. It is surmised the accident happened by Bedell standing too close to the edge of the plilt form when the north hound expresses entered the station. His lamp struck the engine, the concussion throwing him against the train. A south express with a party of doctors going to Dunedin conference, crossing at Oliukune, enabled the injured man to he hurried to the hospital.

Replying to the Hunterville Rabbit Board Fanners Union, Hon. McLeod agreed with a suggestion that rabbit boards inspectors assist in preventing to check noxious weeds ill comparatively clean areas. A bill dealing with tho problem is now being drafted. Ho saw no reason and thought the Minister of Agriculture would agree Vand th(' proposal could he included. The greatest problem was not regarding areas overrun with weeds, hut to prevent the spread in comparatively clean areas.
