The designs must he submitted lie-lore May llitli. If Congress fails to appropriate the mniiev this session, the Navy will, notwithstanding. pay fifty thousand dollars for the winning design.

The four children all of them under four years of age. of Mr and Mrs Jeffery, were burned to death when their home was destroyed by fire.
