BOY SENT FOB TOTAL. SYDNEY, Jan. 11. The inquest on Joon Smith resulted in the Coroner committing James Hughes for trial on a charge of feloniously and maliciously murdering her. Owing to the decomposed condition of the remains, and one neck bone being missing, medical men were unable to state the cause of death, beyond -faying that no hones were broken, and there were no signs of violence and that it was possible that her neck was dislocated hy a fall from a horse N.S.W. The New South Wales Assembly met again to-day for business, which at the first sitting consisted of answering a host of questions, and clearing the way for the re-introduction of a number ol Bills that were left over from the previous session. These Bills .are ol puroIv local interest. ' The Leader of the Opposition (Mr Bavin) announced that the Opposition would not grant “pairs” for two ol the Ministers, who propose to visit England. . This refusal places the Government in a. quandary, and it will probably mean that the visits will he deferred till the recess.
