YOUNG MAX INJURED, WELLINGTON. Jan. 10 A man. Stanley Janies Johnson, single, aged 20, was found lying m the yard of his residence yesterday morning with his head severely injured. His condition is serious.

A five-roomed house at Xgaio was totally destroyed bv fire on Saturday morning. Tbo insurances were:— House, £900; contents, £3OO. A FATAL COLLISION. CHRISTCHURCH. Jail. 10. A motor lorry, conveying a picnic party from 'the sea-side, came into collision, yesterday, with a taxi at the corner of Buckleys and Pages road New Brighton. AY Boon (38), Ins wife (30) and T. J. 11. Sullivan (21), were among the occupants of the motor lorry, were injured and conveyed to the hospital, where it was found that Airs Boon was suffering from head injuries. Despite medical attention she died about midnight. Boon suffered minor injuries, but the death of his wife caused him to collapse, and he was admitted to the ward. Sullivan suffered injuries to his nose. The taxi and the lorry suffered considerable damage. MOTOR CYCLE ACCIDENT. AUCKLAND. Jan. 10. Stanley Roster, a resident of Grey Lynn, sustained a fractured skull through the capsizing of n motor civile with side car. in which ho was a passenger. Albert Roy Allen, driver of the car. sustained bruises to his face arms, and knee. Both were removed to the hospital. OIL TANK OYER F LOAN'S. AUCKLAND, Jan. 10. Tho oil tank on the steamer Huntington overflowed and some of the oil leaked Into number three lower hold, containing a large quantity of butter, which was unloaded to avoid damage. A'erv little damage was done to the cargo, but the oil penetrated the insulating covering the hold. All the affected insulating will be renewed before any more cargo is stowed in that part of tin; steamer. The . hold affected contained butter. loaded at AA'cdlington. ATTKMPTF.I) M UNDER. STRATFORD, January 10. Stanley Emerson. Carlyle Taylor was charged at the Court this morning with on November 14th attempting to murder .James Farrclly at Tanga rakau. Doctor Steven gave evidence that Farrclly could not be understood on admission to the hospital owing to the swelling of his tongue, which was lacerated. llis face was peppered with (pm shot wounds and the .sight of tho right eye was gone.
MOTOR CAR ACCIDENT. DUNEDIN, Jan. 10
In a sensational accident at Kalin Point, Catlins district, at midnight on Saturday, John Taylor, Robert Robertson and AA’ill.nm Morion, of Kaitangata. were thrown from a car which somersaulted over a bank. Robertson suffered concussion and broken ribs, Morrim broken collar bone anil ribs. "Jivlor who was driving escaped with cuts on the face. The injured was taken to the Balelutha hospital. OBITUARY.
