Although the Board of Cricket Control reached a number of important decisions, it refused to make them public. It also refused to divulge what would be done with the profits of tho English tour.
WILD CAMELS. SYDNEY, Jan. 8. Droves of wild camels in tho far west are causing great damage. Camel transport has been largely superseded by 'motor lorries and camels being practically valueless have been allowed to go to tho bush where, in a wild slrate, they are breeding rapidly, giving the settlers great trouble repairing fences which they break down. FEDERAL PRECAUTIONS. .MELBOURNE, Jan. 8. The Director of Health communicated with the British health authorities and director of health of the League of Nations asking for information concerning tho influenza outbreak in Europe, with a view to considering whether Commonwealth action was necessary. SMASH ON SPEEDWAY. SYDNEY, Jan. 9. R. G. Garlick, tho Manager of Automobiles Ltd., and a notedly daring rider, vifas killed on the speedway last nig-lit. He was travelling at a speed of ninety miles an hour when something happened and his machine shot off the track, dropping twenty feet. Garlick arid the machine were smashed. CYCLISTS CRASH. SYDNEY, Jan. 9. At the Sports Ground, in a five miles scratch race, seven lending riders crashed. All of them required medical attention, and Harris and Herder were taken to the hospital suffering from concussion.
