LEAGUE FOOTBALL. ENGLISH BAN LIFTED. LONDON. Jan. 5. The Rughv League football clubs and the affiliated Leagues rejected by fourteen votes to thirteen AA igan’s proposal to remove the ban on all Colonial players on January Bth. A further motion supported the action of the Rughv League Council in releasing the restriction on Australian and New Zealand Rugby Union players from January 3rd. The Council decided to reduce the price of admission to the Leeds test from 15s Id to 10s Gd. It was considered that L. Brown had been sufficiently punished by being sent off the field. F. Henry having been registered a* a York player, his suspension by the New Zealand managers must terminate on January 6th. Henry played in York prior to playing in New Zealand.
N.Z. MAORI TEAM. LONDON. Jan. G. The French Rugby Union’lias made a profit of £2OO to £3OO sterling over the M aori tour. The Union has presented to the' Maoris a life size chantiloer. and also replicas of it for each niemlwr of the team.
MAORIS LEAVING. LONDON. January G. A majority of the Maoris sail by the Alai-loch from Liverpool on the 7th. They [day at A’aneouver on 29th January, February -sth visit Niagara, and Canadian Rockies and leave for Australia bythe mbit! on February 9th.
