AVIr.TCINS' EXPEDITION. NEW A'ORK, Jan. 0
plans for a second North Polar expedition under Captain AA ilkins oie announced by Air Hugh Grant, a former British naval officer, who is co-operat-ing in the re-organised Detroit Arctic Expedition. Captain Wilkins and party will leave Seattle on February 12th., for Fairbanks in Alaska. Three aeroplanes will be used to search for land in the Arctic ice pack. A base will ho established at Point Barrow, and meteorological records will he kept. Captain AVilkins believes that the Arctic weather has a direct hearing on the unsolved meteorological problems of the temperate and tropical zones.
FORCE FOR NICARAGUA. AYASHINGTON. January 0. Six additional vessels carrying an expeditionary force of four hundred marines have been ordered to Niearagun.
