HOKITIKA HOWLERS
WTX SECTION AT NELSON
(From A Correspondent.) NELSON, Jan. 3. The tournament began oil New Year’s Day on the Nelson Club’s greens. The greens were in good order and the rock gardens in the grounds looked beautiful. Twenty-four rinks entered, divided into two sections. Hokitika won the four games of _sixteen heads heating Dee (Maitai) 1, to 10- Stall ard (Maitai) 17 to 14; Newpor t(Richmoiul) 18 to 11; and Piper (Maitai) 19 to 17, the last being the most strenuous. . In the otlicl’ section 4Y. Dee (Maitai) and Bartlett (Nelson) were equal, Bartlett winning the tie. The filial between Hokitika and Nelson will bo played on Tuesday. The pairs competition will be played on Monday on three greens.
