ADDINGTON STOCK SALES. DROP IN BEEF. (By Telegraph.—Special to Guardian.} CHRISTCHURCH. This Day. Alcssrs H. Matson and Co. report as follows regarding their stock sale at Addington yards yesterday:— Store Sheep.—A smaller yarding with, a larger proportion of dry sheep, the market, was generally firmer all round especially for wethers, and ewes with lambs at foot were also a shade better. Best ewes and lambs 1 .‘ls fid to I Is 7d all counted : others tu 9s fid; real good Romney cross ewe hogget." iiffs to 36s 2d ; wether hoggets 18s to 22s :id ; inferior to 14s ; forward wethers 2(ls (id to 28s; extra to .‘iOs Id; others 22s to 265. 1 Store Cattle.—A large entry of the usual odd and nondescript lots of store cattle and practically no ((notable lines offered. Beef. —A large yarding, about COO head, comprising mostly steers, the majority of which were from the south. The quality generally sneaking was excellent and included several beautiful lines of steers. Owing to the heavy yarding the market was easier. Steers were 20s to :50s down and heifers and cows hardly as much. Prime steers to CIO 15s; extra to CIS 7s (id; medium CIO to £l2 10s; others to £9 ss; prime heifers £lO to £l2 10s; extra to £l3 7s Gd : medium £8 os to £9 15s ; others to C l 15s. Prime cows £S 10s to £ll os; extra to £l3 12s fid; medium CO los to £S os; others to ;£,( .
Fat Pigs.—A medium entry, of both porkers and baconcrs. Porkers were slightly easier and baconcrs showed a’ considerable decline on last week’s rates. Values: Light pork 52s to 575;: heavy 65s to 755; average 9Vd to 10d. Light Imeoners. £4 5s to £5, heavy £5 10s to £6; extra to £7 ; average Sid to Old. Choppers £4 to £7 10s. Store Pigs.—Another large entry of mostly good medium and large steers, which sold at prices well up to late rates. AA’eancrs were not in much demand, selling at about par with last week’s oriccs. Y allies: AA eaners lis to 225; best sorts 25s to 32s ; small stores 35s to 40s : medium 42s to 48s ; large 50s to 63s : sows in pig up to £§• Alnttou.—A large yarding mostlv wethers. and the quality generally speaking was much above the average. The sale opened perhaps easier than last week, but on the whole there was little quotable difference, perhaps slioßtlv easier.
