He exclaimed loudly:— “ Mister Speaker. 1 am here to claim my seat.” An uproar followed tin’s, and the Sergeant-iit-Arms attempted to remove the intruder, which was only effected after a violent scene. The Leader of the Opposition, Mr Ravin, then moved a formal motion of protest against the appointment of M r Tonge. the Labour member, who was appointed to Mr Kay’s seat. The motion was defeated.
