THE COAL TROUBLE
MR BALDWIN’S PROPOSALS DISCUSSED. [Australian & N.Z. Cable Association.] LONDON, Sept. 20. The miners executive throughout the day discussed Mr Baldwin’s proposals and finally adjourned. It is understood that the members of the committee came to London intending to turn down tho Government scheme, but after Mr Cook and Mr Smith explained the situation, the. committee realised it was necessary to take a. longer view of the situation and it was essential to find an alternative proposal to the Government’s. These will lie explored to-morrow.
