The “Daily Chronicle’s” correspondent in Madrid, Air Alurtin Donahoe, states that on Sunday a garrison of , 20.000 were closely confined to barracks, each regiment have a company v. under arms for any emergency. Iho infantry officers are angry at the severe imprisonment inflicted on the Artillery officers, and insist upon 1 —'irector Rivera’s resignation. They favour a dictatorship, but not that under General De Rivera. Tho King is in a quandary. A meeting of the Council will bo held to-day a San Sebastian, the King presiding, and the infantry officers, have promised to await the Council’s decision. If General De Rivera decides to stop on, he will probably have to face a> scrious army revolt, which will him out of power, alive or otherwise.; Tho King is said to he seeking the advice of prominent men outside tho circle of the directory. %
