GIPSY SMITH.

.. AUCKLAND, Sept, 20. The financial result of Gipsy Smith’s mission was announced today at a meeting of representatives of the Associated Free Church. The treasurer reported that all the money received from collections, subscriptions, thanks offerings and lecture proceeds had passed through their hands and that the gross total was £] ,185 for the whole mission and lectures. Of this amount Gipsy Smith had been handed to use according to his judgment,' two sums, £l5O from the lectures, and £147 from the thank offerings. Air. and Airs A'oung had been handed £75 from the lectures and £73 from the thank offerings. The total ordinary expenditure apart from the allotments was £839 13s 7d This included rents, advertising and other items, no workers wore paid. There was a debit balance of £99 13s ,7d. It would foe met by the guarantors. Gratifying results concerning moral and spiritual benefits resulting from tho mission were received. Tho following resolution w'is then passed iinalnimonsly ;—“That this meeting gives thanks to God for the auspicious beginning in Auckland of the Gipsy Smith campaign in New Zealand. It recognises tho skill born of long and unique experience, with which Gipsy Smith handles large crowds, and records its sense of the deep effect upon many lives which his messages must have had. As fellow workers of tht missioner, Afr and Airs Young have ■won the goodwill of all.”
